Outgoing Parent Association Chair of the Families of British School of Brussels (FoBSB), Maurits Wesseling, has helped raise vital funds for the CHS Helpline through the purchase of original artwork which he has donated to the international school.

The continuous-line drawings which reflect the emotional challenges and inner strength of teenagers, will be displayed in the school’s new Counselling Suite. BSB has long supported CHS, whose Helpline provides critical out-of-hours assistance to students and families, as well as the wider public. At the recent FoBSB Ball in May, Vice-Principal James Johnson highlighted the importance of this partnership to an audience of more than 200 guests.

Explaining his motivation for the gift, Mr. Wesseling said: “There is a rising need for mental health support, especially for the younger generations for whom expressing their needs is becoming ever more complicated. We all have a responsibility to support those in these situations.”

We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of the BSB community, and especially to Mr. Wesseling and the Families of BSB for their steadfast support this academic year. We wish everyone at BSB a relaxing and well-deserved summer break.
